Emergency Medicine Coverage Needed – Any State License Accepted (MD or DO)

Details: 

Location: San Antonio, TX
Dates coverage is needed:  Beginning in Oct for 12 months (minimum 5 shifts per month required)
Schedule/Shifts Times:  5-7 shifts per month, flexible schedule; 12 hour shifts – days and nights

Call Requirements: None
Patient Volume:  avg 1-2 patients per hour
Patient Ages:  adults only
Support Staff: yes – Several specialty Physicians available on staff or on call (General Surgery, Cardiology, Urology, Psychiatry, etc.)
Credentialing: 4-6 weeks on average

Requirements: 

Specialty: Board Certified/Eligible Emergency Medicine or BC/BE Internal Medicine/Family Medicine with current Emergency Medicine experience (minimum 500 hours in the last 12 months)
Procedures Required: when safe and appropriate to do so: central venous line placement, arterial catheter      placement, emergency chest tube or needle thoracostomy to relieve tension pneumothorax, peritoneal lavage, defibrillation and synchronized cardioversion, endotracheal intubation, lumbar puncture, proctoscopy/anoscopy, pericardiocentesis, simple closed fracture and dislocation reduction, arthrocentesis, local/regional anesthesia, moderate and/or deep procedural sedation, periocardiocentesis, temporary pacemaker placement, chest tube thoracostomy and cricothyroidotomy.
Type of Charting: EMR – CPRS
Life Supports:  BLS, ACLS (through American Heart),
DEA: DEA (fee paid, schedules 2-5)
