Medical Technologists and Technicians needed!
Specialty: Medical Technologists/Clinical Laboratory Scientists and Medical Laboratory Technicians/Clinical Lab Technicians
Client: VAMC
Location: Temple, TX
Dates coverage is needed: early July – 1 year (with option to extend) Schedule/Shifts Times: Monday – Friday, 8a – 4:30p
Duties:
- Will perform a broad range of laboratory procedures, including advanced and complex laboratory procedures. Must be able to recognize deviation from expected results and use scientific principles to analyze and correct problems
- Maintain and document the optimal functioning of laboratory equipment. Use, calibrate, and identify malfunctions; repair and perform preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Perform and document quality control and quality assurance activities and corrective actions related to test performance using statistical principles and theories of performance improvement
- Answer inquiries regarding test results, methodology, test specificity, test sensitivity, and specific factors which influence test results. Interpret results and suggest follow‐up test selection or procedures
Requirements:
Medical Technologist: Bachelor of Science Degree, Certification from Nationally recognized accrediting agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT etc), minimum of 2 years experience,
Medical Technician: 2 year Associates in Applied Science Degree, Certification from Nationally recognized accrediting agency (ASCP, NCA),
Experience on the following analyzers is preferred:
i. Sysmex XN3100 Hematology Analyzer & Slide Maker Stainer
ii. Sysmex Cellavision Digital Imaging
iii. Diagnostica STA‐R Max Coagulation Analyzer
iv. Beckman Iris Velocity & IQ Select Urinalysis Analyzer
v. Beckman Coulter AU5800 Chemistry Analyzer
vi. Beckman Coulter DxI800 Immunoassay Analyzer
vii. Beckman Coulter Power Express Automation Line
viii. Osmometer
