The project involved replacing a generator for the Department of Veterans Affairs Healthcare System. This included the installation of a temporary generator during construction, a new 850 kW generator, a 290-square-foot switchgear enclosure building, removal of an existing generator, removal of an underground fuel tank, removal of a remote radiator, HVAC modification, and associated utilities. Other construction scopes included commissioning, demolition, cast-in-place concrete, masonry, structural steel framing, metal fabrications, HVAC, TAB, electrical, earthwork, exterior improvements, fencing, and landscaping. Some existing systems were retained and upgraded to interface with new systems, ensuring a seamless transition during construction while maintaining all necessary Interim Life Safety Measures.
